PROSPECT HEIGHTS TOWNHOUSE

Situated in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, this duplex required a complete spatial reorganization to resolve a cramped and disjointed interior. The original parlor floor was bisected by an oversized powder room that severed visual connections between the front and rear exposures, while an undersized kitchen failed to meet the spatial demands of the home. By strategically relocating and resizing these core utility elements, the intervention establishes a single, uninterrupted sightline from the entry through to the rear outdoor deck, significantly expanding the perceived scale of the compact footprint.

Rather than relying on freestanding furniture, the functional program is resolved through a continuous architectural millwork element spanning the length of the floor. This singular intervention integrates the living area, AV storage, a dedicated bar, a custom kitchen, and a dining zone for eight. Unified by a cohesive material language and precise detailing, this strategy reduces visual clutter and establishes a quiet, minimalist refinement, resulting in an environment that feels highly considered and resolved at every scale.
