LENOX HILL APARTMENT

Located within a pre-war building in Lenox Hill, the apartment required a strategic gut renovation to resolve ambiguous spatial functionality and deteriorating finishes. To maximize the compact footprint, the intervention focuses on the fluid differentiation of programming through connected layers of space. A series of program-dense architectural thresholds, composed of simple geometries, are introduced to precisely accommodate the requirements of living, working, and entertaining.

Drawing on bold graphic patterning, the material palette utilizes natural stones and woods with contrasting lines and textures to visually delineate zones while unifying the overall plan. Select historical details were preserved and integrated into the new composition, establishing a deliberate juxtaposition between the building’s pre-war character and the contemporary intervention.
